We welcome back all our returning fencers from last year, and we especially welcome new members who would like to learn to fence, or to continue their study of fencing.
Our first practice will be from 3:30 to 6:00 on Wednesday 3 August in the cafeteria. We will continue to practice at the same time and place every Wednesday until the February break.
If you are new to the club, please take a look at the What’s Involved page. If you are wondering what fencing even is, try the Why Fencing page. If you think you might be interested, show up at any practice (the first practice would be best) with the forms linked to from the Registration page. You can attend a couple of practices before you decide if you want to join.
Please reply to the e-mail you will be sent just before the first day of school to let us know that you will be returning. Then show up at the first practice with the registration, medical and waiver forms completed. I’m afraid we do need a new set of forms each school year. Don’t forget that you should also have completed the Cobb County Athlete Registration process some time after March 31st.
Note that, because of the reorganisation at Pope, we have lost our storage area. The administration suggests that fencers who bring their fencing bags to school on Wednesday morning should ask a friendly teacher to allow them to be stored in a classroom until the end of school.
