If you need somewhere to leave your fencing bag during school on Wednesday, you can put it in the storage area off the hallway that goes past the aux gym. To find it, walk past the entrance to the aux gym going away from the band room and towards the wrestling gym. The storage area is through the double doors on your right immediately after passing 700 hall (700 hall is the one with the locker rooms).
Pinecrest Academy is hosting a rules clinic next Saturday. Fencers (especially new fencers) are encouraged to attend. The following information was provided by Pinecrest.
Pincrest Academy is hosting a League Wide Rules Clinic for all Fencers. Coach Morris will be covering the most common Do’s and Don’ts of the Strip. ALL fencers are welcome and encouraged to attend this FREE event. New or old, we all need a refresher on what the rules are. This is a great opportunity for new fencers to learn the rules before they see them in action at the first tournament, and for returning fencers to gain a greater understanding of the sport. This Clinic will be on Saturday, August 29th from 10 am to 1 pm at Pinecrest Academy’s gym. Admission is FREE. There will be concessions, snacks and sandwiches, available to purchase.
The parent meeting will be from 6 PM to 8 PM on 19 August in the cafeteria. Each fencer should have at least one parent attend. Fencers are also welcome to stay for the meeting. We will serve pizza, soda and water.
The agenda includes:
- Collect any remaining paperwork (we will have blank forms for those who need them) and dues
- Provide details of the coming tournament season
- Find volunteers for some open positions
- Information and Q&A for parents of new fencers
We hope to finish no later than 8 PM, and parents of returning fencers can skip the last item and leave by 7:30.
